Overview
Boltund VMAX has decent toughness with 320 HP and has no Resistance. Like Boltund VMAX from other expansion, it also has Fighting Weakness so it can be easily OHKO by most of the popular Fighting Pokemon. You can retreat Bolund VMAX with 2 Energy or attach Air Balloon and retreat without discarding any Energy.
Boltund VMAX first attack, Lightning Storm has 30 base damage and does extra 30 damage for each Lighting Energy attached to all your Pokemon. 1 Lightning Energy and 1 Colorless Energy is required to use this attack. The good thing about this attack is that you don't need to attach all Lighting Energy to 1 Boltund V to get massive damage like Rayquaza VMAX. You can spread the Lightning Energy across all your other Boltund VMAX or attackers to maintain damage. Even if your Active Boltund VMAX got knocked out, there will be no problem for other Boltund VMAX to maintain high damage.
To get high damage from Lightning Storm, it might take you few turns. Meanwhile, you can use Boltund VMAX other attack. Max Bolt instead. Although this attack requires 3 Energy [2 Lightning Energy and 1 Colorless Energy] to use, it has very high damage of 230. So, you can use this attack to knock out your opponent Pokemon while you are charging up damage for Lighting Storm attack.
The new Boltund V attacks are dissappointing compared to old Boltund V. The first attack, Smash Turn does 30 damage and switch it with 1 of your Benched Pokemon while the second attack, Electro Bullet has 120 base damage and does 30 damage to 1 of your opponent's benched Pokemon. As you can see, it is much better to use Boltund V from Rebel Clash.
Rebel Clash Boltund V attacks are more suitable for Boltund VMAX. The first attack, Electrify can use to accelerate 2 Lighting Energy for other Boltund VMAX on your bench. The only difference between Boltund V second attack and Boltund VMAX first attack is difference of 20 damage in base damage. So, everything you plan for Boltund VMAX also works for Boltund V. Even without evolving it into Boltund VMAX, Boltund V can become strong attacker with the right setup.
Energy Setup
Flaffy Ability Dynamotor let you accelerate 1 Lightning Energy from your discard pile to 1 of your Benched Pokemon. Since Boltund VMAX needs 3 Energy most, you can setup either 2 or 3 Flaffy from your bench.
With Flaaffy on your bench, you can use Cheryl to heal all damage from Boltund VMAX without worry. Because Energy discarded by Cheryl can be re-attached using Flaffy Ability Dynamotor. You will need "Air Balloon" and/or "Switch" to accelerate 3 Lightning Energy to your Active Boltund VMAX or Benched Boltund VMAX depending on the situation. Doing so, you will be able to attack again using Boltund VMAX after using Cheryl.
Stadium
All the main Pokemon in this deck are LIghtning Pokemon.. Stormy Mountains will let you setup 1 Boltund V or 1 Mareep every turn
Optional Secondary Attacker
Both Rayquaza VMAX and Tapu Koko VMAX attacks can be accelerated using Flaaffy Ability Dynamotor. So, there is no problem for putting either of these Pokemon in Boltund VMAX Deck. But, you must have Auora Energy in your deck if you plan to use Rayquaza VMAX. In the late game, Rayquaza VMAX is great for massive damage while Tapu Koko VMAX have guarantee paralyzed effect with decent damage if you have more Prize Cards than your opponents.
The sample Deck List will not include these Pokemon since the article is mainly to feature Boltund VMAX. However, if you want to include these Pokemon in your own deck, put either up to 2 Rayquaza VMAX line or up to 2 Tapu Koko VMAX line.
